Thomas Lynch Jr. said, "I have a Letter from undoubted Authority that assures me that the destruction of the Parliamentary Army in America will certainly produce Peace and by another that the seizing Quebec will produce the same Effect. I have no doubt America stands now indebted to her General for the One and will before the Return of Spring for the other."

Romans 13:1 which says, “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.”
I understand the argument and I can see where the thoughts come from but I feel that this idea is a misunderstanding of the roots of the American Revolution and of what the Bible teaches about governmental authority.
